Has ANY stock/full weight car done 9's with bolt-ons only + street tires?

Curious if any stock production car has ever been in the 9's with street tires, no interior weight reduction and bolt ons only. "Bolt ons only" being stuff like intake, tune, exhaust. But not upgraded fuel system, turbos, motor build, etc.

Maybe the McLaren f1? Veyron SS? 918? On this site there is a vid of a 997.2 Turbo S convertible that did a 10.1 @ 134 with r888 tires with the champion stg 2 package (tune, exhaust, plenum, intercoolers) which is what the champion development Turbo S used to do the 9.83 - but of course it was on drag radials.

I'm having the Champion Stg 2 package installed next week on my turbo s coupe and am going to make a trip to the strip as soon as we get another private track rental and will be using r888's which is probably the only street tires capable of producing grip sufficient for a 1.4x 60 ft which is needed for a high 9.

Thx.

McLaren P1, MotorTrend tested it at 9.8 @ 148.9. Bugatti Veyron is just a little slower, flirts between high 9s & low 10s.

I figured there would be a couple $million stock hypercars that could do it. Maybe other boutique companies like Konigsegg or Pagani have one?

Possible with a bolt-on Porsche GT2, McLaren mp4 12c, GTR, Aventador or some other car under a million?

My guess is that if someone here with a Turbo can do it, we will be in very good company.

A gtr with FBO would run low 10's but won't be able to dip into the 9's unless you run an upgraded fuel system with e85. So far all the r35's I seen in the 9's were running drag radials and had mild weight reduction as well. Not sure if the mp4 could do it as well, even with tune and downpipes. Only FBO car I've seen with stock turbos and fuel system to do it is champions 997.2. A zr1 with tune, pulley, upgraded heat exchanger and a blower inlet running drag radials has been in the 9's as well.

Why not just swap to DR and skip the r888. R888 are very noisy.

Also, I Have been 1.4 on Nitto Invo. The DR is way easier though

R888's are not noisy IMO. They work great, that's why all the big build ugr Lambos and gtr's run them.

i have ps2, MT ETstreets2 and R888 as we speak, R888s are really noisy, the safety at high speed is above MT and maybe this is the reason the lambo and gt-r guys are using them

Hopefully environmental conditions and coupe vs cab differences are good enough when you run to break into the 9's!

If your car is stock then yes they are not worth it. If your car is modded then your exhaust should be louder than your tires. If it's not, you don't need R888's because your probably not pushing enough power to need them.

My car dynoed 816hp at 1.65bar and i run a free flow exhaust 3" including race headers and extrrnal wgs.... Consider low rpms, in 5th gear at like 60mph when the exhaust is silent, the tires are really noisy... If i drive over 3000 rpms then yes exhuast will be louder than tires. MT drags arent noisy at low rpms but over 130mph they are bouncy and dangerous to run for extended periods of time or for crazy speeds as they are not rated for those speeds, some guys run them till 180mph for short time, i wouldnt do that...

For a Stock/Bolt-On Car to go 9s, it's basically gonna have to be a high performance car that came FI from the factory, allowing for large gains to be made with basic bolt-ons/software (high boost).

Both the GTR & 997.2 are just in the 9s with stock turbos, but the Champion 997.2 does it in style (Bolt-Ons + DRs, Full Interior) while the GTR (AWD Motorsports) needed a little more massaging (Stock Motor/Trans/Turbos, but it had Ported Heads, No DP-Back Exhaust, Straight E85 tune).

Well, that's the issue I have. Here in SoCal, we only have Famoso in Bakersfield. We don't get ATCO or VIR density altitudes. Even on the coldest winter mornings DA's are usually positive.

Also, track prep is not as good. Therefore I have to follow behind a tubbed car with huge slicks that lays down a wide rubber patch. Doing this has allowed me to get into the low 1.6's with Pilot Super Sports. Otherwise I'm doing 1.8's just spinning hard through 1st gear.

So it will be a challenge! Probably not even doable until things cool down again next December/January.

West coast weather problems

Totally hear ya though, sounds like you gotta wait if you're gonna run it local. At least we east coast peeps can look forward to our machines a little more awakened when we start them on a cold morning...when the roads aren't salted that is.
