Took my turbo to the Pocono track.

I took my 997.1 turbo to HPDE event at the Pocono Raceway well known by NASCAR track. This event was organized by Audi club and the track configuration was great for high powered cars as the course was the NASCAR Tri-Oval with in-field passing like Rorex24 race at Daytona. I had a great time and experience especially with my two GTR friends. I will post couple youtube videos later as I don't have access to it right now at work.

Car ran and felt great at the track with my newly mounted Michelin Sport Cup tires. They grip so nicely and I barely heard any tire skid noise. Maybe I didn't push hard enough. At the front and back stretches, I hit 158mph. I could go faster but I stopped there because it was almost redline at 5th gear and not worth to shift into 6th gear before braking.

I love my car more after the event. It is perfect reliable driving machine without any worries. Oh, I hit the 70k miles while I was driving at the track so I missed exact 70,000 mile mark.

Few pics from the track.

Finally joined 70k mile club!

This GT2 from TPC Racing was there too. Very nice car!

My buddies GTRs.

One of my favorite tracks, I love the long track configuration. Any day on an oval track is a good day!
BTW, how do you like those wheels, just ordered the same?

track looks much better then I remember it. It was crumbling last time I was there and did a number on my facia (previous car)... might consider going back now that I see it.

Love the CH-Rs. Did you order 19x12 or 19x11? Tirerack sells two different specs. Mine are 19x11 and the offset is also different. So I'm using spacers.

I heard that they re-paved in 2012. Surface was very smooth.

Great shots! Your car looks great.

I love the long course configuration. The tunnel turn before the dogleg is probably my favorite section.

Any suspension mods?

I ordered the 19x11, although they are coming out with a 11.5 next yr. I got mine from fvd Germany.
There are actually 11 different configurations of pocono, they keep it up much better now after NASCAR threatened to leave 5 yrs ago.
Last time I was there they let us run a few laps on the full tri-oval, that will wake you up!

I like the way that spoiler looks from the side front.

Do you have pics of the rear of your car with that spoiler and who makes that spoiler?

Thanks

Only suspension mod is H&R springs. I'm considering sway bars as a next mod.

19X11s have 56mm which is even more conservative offset than stock(51mm). They looked little awkward so I put 20mm spacers on the back. That's equivalent to stock wheels with 15mm spacers. Looks pretty good.

It's a GT2 style spoiler by AP(Agency Power).

Looks good, remember pca only allows oem spacers, they might hassle you at a pca de.
An oem 17mm might look good.
