Try not to bore everyone here, but turned 40 last year, decided it was time to get my 911. Was basically going down the car "bucket list" RS4, M3, etc and 911 was next on the list. Test drove a MY2013 991 S without sport chrono. It was nice, but expectations were too high or did not have the SC or did not spend enough time in the car, whatever the case, I was disappointed.

It only seemed 20% better than my MY2011 E92 M3. Too much build up I thought...but someone at the dealer started a Panamera GTS...VRROOMMM.

It sounded AWESOME. Test drove it. It was amazing how quick and visceral it sounded. The sticker was the same. Sh%t. Same price for what seemed to be so much more car. Like how wedding rings are the same price no matter how much bigger the man's is...

My cheap side won out and decided the Panamera was a better deal.

A year later, I am commuting 45 mins a day, alone, in this big *** sedan. Missing my M3 everyday. Looked into killing the lease and going 911S but the numbers made no sense. A Benz dealer made a great offer on the Panamera so I end up with something I never heard of a C63 507 package.

Small car with stupid torque. Great fun, but I could not for the life of me forget the 911.

FINALLY, decided I could not stick with my ONE CAR POLICY, bit the bullet, and will have this delivered next week:









I will have more pics next week, but 997 Turbo S is my ultimate 2nd car. Wanted a 6 speed, but this was a good deal on the S...look forward to playing with it as much as you all. Test drove a Turbo with 6 speed and feel in love.

Side note: the 991 Turbo S is ridiculous money right now. Too close to moving into exotic car territory...

Congrats! I bought my first Porsche in 1991. A 1987 930, and my 2008 is my 3rd P-turbo. I believe that you will find that there is truly "no substitute" for the 911 turbo in in any of its embodiments.
