New Turbo for me!
New Turbo for me!
2008 911 turbo with 60 000km (37500miles)
6 Speed
Sport Chrono
Power memory seats
Logo on Head rest
Turbo Logo on arm rest
etc..
Well after 7 LONG , LONG months of searching I pulled the trigger on my 997.1 Turbo! I purchased it from a Pfaff McLaren here in Woodbridge, but the old owner got all his work done by the same company that did most of the work on my 996 & he attest to the cars upkeep and care. All records are up to date with oil changes every 5000km (3100 miles), coils/plugs done etc. and it has a nice list of mods that can make the car livable (compared from coming form my old car to a "stock" 997):
RSS front split control arms
H&R springs
GT2 Rear Sway bar
WEVO motor mounts
GT3 Throttle Body
IPD Competition Intake Plenum 82mm
EVOMS under drive pulleys
EVOMS diverter valves
New rotors all around with Pagid 29 & 19 pads
UpSolute tune (only boosting 0.8-0.9BAR need more power captain)
BMC Air filter
SSK from Porsche
Sprint Booster
FabSpeed Straight pipes with HJS 200 Cell cats (selling this, waiting to place my order with SpeedTech, then I will list in for sale section)
Car is doing 8.55sec 60-130 with the above mods with .8-.9BAR of boost on 94 octane. I am not sure if that is a good time with the above mods and that low of boost.
Even though I would miss my (written off) 996Turbo, being I had almost everything how I wanted it concerning a balanced car in regards to power, looks, handling and braking (added much more mods then my signature has), I am very happy with this new platform. I feel this foundation would be a all around better foundation compared to my 996Turbo to handle the performance modifications.
I look forward to building a well balance machine in the near future and just enjoying this great machine that I have always wanted!

Congratulations! I looked at this car a few weeks ago while mine was being serviced. I bought a very similar car with the same interior/exterior color options there a few years ago.
I remember looking at your car about 2-3 years ago at Pfaff Porsche and that is when I knew I really had to have a 997! That is a gorgeous machine you have there!!

congrats on the car! The guys at Autowerks had suggested the Upsolute tune to me but I couldn't find anyone else that had it so I passed in favour of the Protomotive tune. Sounds like a reasonable 60-130 time for the mods listed. What happened to your 996?
havent heard anyone using UpSolute in a long time. the rest of the mods seem proper. RSS etc...
weird someone wouldnt go with one of big Porsche tuners.

AGREED!!
The car is only boost 0.8-0.9 and I NEVER heard of Upsolute for Porsche tuning before this car.
With my mods and this tune at 0.8-0.9bar I barely(1 to1.5 car lengths), beat a proper tuned (not sure of the flash) X50 running 1.0-1.1 BAR with stock exhaust!!
I know this car with the same boost of 1-1.1 BAR would walking out on the above x50, let alone a Protomotive or EPL tune with 1.2-1.4 for example.
I am not to worried as I know the tune would be going soon as I am just finalizing a package with upgraded VTG's, E85 & 94 Octane pump tune (with larger injectors etc.) . I just would of like to feel how a proper tune would of felt on stock VTG's before the upgrade...but oh well! My billet k16 996T would of left this set up I have HARD, by at least 2++ bus lengths for sure (being that is the distance I used to put on this same X50)!
If anyone has any Inlets laying around (ie EVOMS) shoot me a PM or any mods that might be of interest.
Thanks

With your EPL tune what boost are you running (not just spiking, but actually holding).

I went from stock to Proto tune on stock turbos and then to Proto tune with upgraded vtgs. Each step was noticeable and well worth the money imho. The Proto tune on stock turbos could slip the clutch in cold weather. Much more boost than the Upsolute. In fact, isn't that LESS than stock boost????

Its very low for that fuel.
