Silly suspension question - please be kind
I bought my first TT about 3 months ago now and I love the car. The one mod I think about making all the time is the suspension. However, I live in an urban area and I don't want it lower all the time as it would be more trouble than it's worth. I would love to have the ability to lower it when I am in sport mode for example (on a road where it makes sense), but I would like to have it raise back to where it is now for driving back home and in urban areas. Is this even possible? I know there are ways to adjust the car, but I don't believe those are shocks meant for sports cars. Thank you for the help.
u can bag it - if you dont care for handling. its tough having a lowered car in the city. my front lip scrapes EVERYWHERE

If you don't want to lower your car... take a look at TPC module, DSC.

so you basically want to change the suspension for looks? There are techart springs on ebay for 350$
The trade off to what you want is a horrible ride on anything but a track like surface, which BTW unknown to many self proclaimed suspension experts, you can actually unsettle your self more with a track tuned suspesion on roads that arent tracks.
here is an extreme example. The Carrere GT where its recommended to use extreme caution when crossing lanes with reflective markers.
Needless to say I love suspension threads, I just adore reading the comments from these suspeion tuners.
Anyways get those TechArt springs and leave everything else alone you will get your lowered ride and keep as much of the daily driver in the car as you can, AND still be able to use the Sport mode.

FWIW, I'm pretty happy with my setup (see sig below). My drive is all urban and I'm on 20's. I scrape the front lip occasionally, but you just learn to adapt. I even tore off a chunk of my front mud flap (tuck and gorilla tape work wonders). Despite these nuisances, the lowered look, filled wheel wells and handling are sweet. To further improve, I'm thinking about adding the DSC in the future.
as said in above post- read the suspension mod discussions about DSC-
It's a day/night improvement for 997.1 PASM suspension- but will not change height- $ well spent for me, transforms the car- perfect now.
i didn't want it lower to hit front everywhere-
DSC is also being used with springs only or other changes-
i've no affiliation with TPC- just a first time customer & very satisfied with this product.

less travel for the shocks or springs, I would imagine often means less flex so stiffer ride. The car dances at times on long slow curves and also it does look better yes.
Ok. But a suspension is more than lowering for looks. Springs control ride height but shocks etc do more of the work.
You are clearly after looks so get the tech art ones that work with stock pasm and call it a day. You get the look without destroying the ride and tires. Sadly some folks don't realize that a track setup car is great but forget how long a set of tires lasts on the track and they forget that one setup for one track is night and day from another. They then try and do a track setup for any random track and apply it to the street which changes from one section of road to the next not to mention street to street.
Of course they will swear it handles night and day because it does but is it better or worse? Are you destroying tires which are your last true application of grip/friction?
Too me suspension is like the butt dyno. Some guy with no racing background slaps some brand name setup on a car he hasn't the first engineering idea on and decides it's better than people that actually are engineers and put a real driver that gets paid just to drive said car to test ....not just on a track but in daily life. They compile all that data and sell a car with a setup that suits the millions of hours and dollars they put in.
This isn't an exhaust or tune that you are potentially risking engine life for power or in the exhaust case sounds and emissions , which btw porsche is very proud to put less carbon in the air than they took in

Thank you for the help. My question was really around having 2 height settings that are in line with the 2 suspension settings. To me, it would be cool if there was the current soft setting, but then when you hit the suspension button, it not only tightens the ride, but lowers the car 1 inch or so. I didn't think this was possible, but I was curious.

I have no idea why you question has not been answered or why everyone is talking about things that are not related to your question.
To the best of my knowledge there is a system that lifts the front nose for a speed bump scenario, however im not sure if you can actually drive with it up and im sure it will not add comfort:

Other then that I have not heard of a system of the 997 that has the function you a looking for. I know many Land Rovers offer this feature but have never seen a system offered for the 997.
Yah we did. We said get springs it will do most of what he wants. There is no such thing unless he wants to go hydraulics..... although most of those guys slam the car parked and drive it in a normal state. So to be brutally honest to you maybe you shouldn't comment on post adding a useless irrelevant option. When it's clear he is Interested in looks. Floaty in a corner is not springs and in a 911 if it's truly there I would wonder what happened to the car...
Again refer to my comment regarding slammed low riders
..they are slammed at low or parked speeds... ride height is normal at speed above 2 mph. So not to be offensive but a NASCAR slammed car look is not going to help him.
If it's looks and a livable ride mod. Get tech art springs for the enth time and enjoy the car.
A spoiler saver isn't going to help him

thanks for those who tried to help and again, I was looking for NOT just looks. Sport mode, low and stiffer than it is today. Regular mode, exactly the same height and stiffness as it is today. My question has been answered and coming in I didn't think it existed.
