997 PCCBs are awesome. Tires and proper suspension mods and settings will be the other pieces of the puzzle.

It is highly likely that your brakes are overpowering your tires. Remember, your tires are what is actually stopping the car, not the brakes.

there are no better brakes than carbon ceramics.
longboarder is 100% right. you should be running on competition tires (toyo r888, michelin cups etc) at all times if youre making power.

When you slam the brakes does the ABS light up? If the you need stickier tires not new brakes...

What are you using your car for - Airstrip racing, drag racing, track events?

When I started tracking I used to warp my brakes at every event. I always thought that I needed better brakes but the reality is that I just needed to learn how to use them. Brakes need to be warmed and cooled gradually, and correct braking application learned.

In your case, your semi-slick tires need heat in them to work. Just like the Michelin Cup tires. They grip poorly when cold and this may be your issue. When braking hard with cold tires, you tires will loose traction and skid.

OP- Congrats on the 4.1 Get some steel rotors and race compound if you're not happy with your PCCB performance. What type of use are you talking about? Drags, road use, track???
