CPO over:This is the two year cost...
CPO over:This is the two year cost...
So, now I have had my 2007 TT for two years and the CPO is now over. The car had 18,000 miles on it when I bought it, it now has 26,000 miles.
So here is what the CPO covered:
1 low frequency horn: $300
1 radiator: $1000
2 Hydraulic lifts for the spoiler: $2400
1 Accumulator: $600
1 Stuck turbo actuator: ? dealer had the car for 2 weeks (no longer go to that dealer!)
6 cracked ignition coils:$500 + no labor
Total CPO covered costs: $4800 without the stuck actuator.
This is what I paid for maintenance:
4 oil changes: $1200
Serpentine belt change: $350
Spark Plug change:$800
Two radiator hoses: $200
Tires:$2500
Total maintenance: $5050
So, my guess over the next 6 years with the milage I drive, there's the oil changes $3600 and that's about it assuming nothing else goes wrong.
But, I already have the smell of antifreeze from another rad, and I'm getting the 2nd gear pop out on the tranny. The tranny can be fixed with a 8mm ball and spring.
So I am hopeful that I can go another 6 years before the plugs need to be changed, and then just do a whole tranny, engine drop, and replace the plugs, coils, hoses, belts, clutch in one shot. Probably about $6500 then
Need to save up
So if you are looking at that nice 2007 TT without the CPO, think carefully! All of the above CPO work is common on a turbo at 6-7 years.
But the fun, priceless

No, the interval is the same and I do not track the car. However, I store the car in an unheated garage for the winter where up here the temperatures can vary between 0 and - 30. Those temperature extremes can cause water to condense in the engine and so recommended.
My CPO was just expired last week as well. My CPO covered coolant line/fitting fix, new water pump, AC repair(twice), gas tank evap issue and few minor things. I think all the repair cost was close to 10g. Plus I enjoyed their loaner cars including Cayman, Boxter, Panamera, Cayenne and A8. If someone has chance to buy CPO car or considering CPO their cars, go for it. It's worth every penny.

Hi,
It was included in the price of the car when I bought it. I paid $81k two years ago in Montreal which was 8K below sticker. Still even today, the dealers here are charging $84k for 2007.

I'm the 3rd owner of my car. It was CPOed prior to the second owner picking it up in 2009, with 4K miles on the clock. Over the next 4 years there was over $20,000 in repairs under warranty. Coils, clutch slave cylinder, spoiler hydraulics, radiators, seat frame failure, A/C condenser, catalytic converter failure resulting in a whole new exhaust, window regulator, front strut mounts, and of course the coolant fittings on top of the engine. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. Everything replaced under CPO warranty.
When I picked up the car last year it had a few months left on CPO. Mind you, I didn't see the CPO paperwork until after the deal was done. When the dealer sent me the receipts I was floored. So I quickly picked up a Fidelity Platinum warranty for 4 years or 48K miles. And since then, the car has been trouble free in the 12K miles I've driven it. Go figure!
Now I have a peace of mind. Fidelity is better than CPO. It covers bushings, control arms, etc. that are considered wear and tear by Porsche.
YMMV.

I've had the clutch slave cylinder go out, coolant fittings on top of engine, and oil temp sensor all go out on me in less than a year of ownership. I'd certainly like the car a lot less if these repairs came out of my pocket.

Well as everyone says, the Mezger engine is pretty well bulletproof. Too bad the rest of the car is not!
There really is a lot of cheap poorly engineered parts on the turbo. I'd say over a ten year period you spend 2-3k a year on fixes and maintenance, which includes 1 or 2 engine drops. You gotta pay if you want to play.

Man, if I had seen this 2 years ago I probably wouldn't have bought mine. When I got the car it had 10 months if CPO left. It only covered my tire pressure sensors. After that I've had the AC pressure switch fail. Replaced on my own for $50 from Sonnen. AC recharge was ~$100 out the door. Probably would have been $500 at the dealership. Find a good Indy if you choose not to wrench yourself. I've just passed 10k miles since the end of July 2012. Fewer miles driven than expected but happy the car has been solid.
Edit: to clarify I just passed 40k miles, purchased with about 29k miles.

I bought my car from a fancy car dealer in Ohio and he was able to channel the deal thru the local P dealership and I paid $2600 for the CPO. Thank goodness for it! clutch slave, spoiler hydraulic, camshaft replacement. Those repairs alone were probably 10k. Gotta say though, I still love the car and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Hopefully an even bigger smile when the bigger turbos go on.
Man this thread is freaking me out, my warranty runs out this month or next. But so far in a year and a half I've only had the clutch slave problem and tpms. Dont think I have the money right now to get extended warranty since I just bought wifey a 2011 cayenne.
i paid $4300 for Fidelity platinum 6 yr/60k addt'l miles $250 ded- for my 07 997.1TT with 24k miles & still under CPO for a while longer- got it by calling Fin Mgr at Sunset Porsche in Oregon.
