Price check 2007 turbo tip? (47k miles)... considering trade for '10/'11 M3

I bought my '07 TT Tip 2 years ago for $72,500. It's black/black, 47k miles, ceramic brakes, pretty well optioned w/ carbon fiber interior accents, etc. Got a new Tip transmission (under CPO warranty) 4k miles ago when the transmission had a *tiny* leak. The CPO is now expired of course. Car is stock except for fabspeed exhaust.

Anyway, I'm beginning to feel like I might have the "itch" to swap it for something else. #1 I'd like something with more modern electronics (bluetooth, gps, etc), and #2 something that can possibly run all season tires. (I know, I know.. I HATE having to switch out wheels and tires -- I don't really want to run a car in the snow, it's more that I want to be able to drive it in 35 degree dry days, without having to mess with winter tires/wheels)

I'm thinking I might test drive a few M3's available locally ('10s / 11s with ~30-40k miles) with MCT. I live in a state with a long winter (and cool fall/spring) so the loss of 4WD would suck. On the other hand, I could run all season tires and drive an M3 for 8 or 9 months a year (vs. the 997.1 TT, where I don't want to put on winter tires and thus can only drive it 6 months a year).

Anyways I am wondering:
1) Am I crazy for considering this.
2) What my car is worth (especially relative to a dealer for a trade in for a '10/'11 M3)

I suppose I'm also open to considering other vehicles, although I want to "downgrade" to something in the $40k-ish range (no more 70k vehicles, even though I can afford them) -- but winter friendly is a must -- and prefer to have at least the option to have all season tires (even if most folks here would frown on that)

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Ha :-)

In all seriousness I want something just a tad more practical-ish. Also, I miss my old 997.2 PDK transmission... the 'Tip transmission just doesn't do it for me, if I'm being honest. (And I can't afford/don't want the 997.2 TT PDK)... the M3 DCT sounds similar to the PDK.

I have a 2013 M3 DCT. It is an incredibly comfortable and practical car. It does everything well...but it's not the best at anything. It is the epitome of a very well-rounded car and if I could only have one car, that's the car it would be. The DCT transmission is also much more engaging than the PDK in the 997.2's.

My recommendation is to try and find a 2011 or 2012 coming off lease with both the competition package and DCT transmission. These seems to hold their value a little better.

Good luck.

Wow, the DCT is better than a 997.2 PDK?

I LOVE the PDK. (Might be why I feel so dissatisfied with the Tiptronic on the 997.1TT)

I'm looking at a '10 and an '11 w/ DCT, both for sale locally (GR Auto Gallery). I generally like to buy in state / locally for convenience reasons but if anyone knows of a great car for sale, please let me know.

The ZF PDK is programmed to make it seem like it's an automatic. The flappy paddle shifters are poor and there is a programmed lag between when you pull the paddles and when the trans shifts.

The Getrag DCT is programed to feel like a dual clutch transmission. The steering wheel engagement is phenomenal. When you pull the shifter, the car shifts instantly. No delay. You can also feel the shift with your fingers with aggressive driving.

But the PDK can handle a lot more power.
