I'm thinking of putting my cargraphic exaust up for sale which only has about 4k miles on it.....my question is will I'm in there changing my exaust out to protomotive I'm not sure what exaust would sound like with headers on it...would there be any members that have any videos ....do headers make exaust louder or does it just change sound....any help would be appreciated ...

 

headers change the sound
i have fabspeed headers on my 997, and evoms headers on my 996.
they give the car a "howl" from 3-4k rpm. it sounds awesome.

 

Your factory headers are good to just over 600whp. If you ask me, the $ you'll spend on headers is better spent on other upgrades at this stage.

I had Aftermarket headers at some point but went back to stock as they all have a tendency to crack after some time.

From what I noticed, they let you hear the air flowing more, you can hear the turbos abit more. But having a Proto exhaust and adding headers I personally don't think the difference will be so big.

 

Timely topic for me. I was thinking about some GMG headers partly cuz another Porsche mechanic I know said the stock manifolds have been known to crack esp on modded or tracked cars. Any truth to that?

 

I'd be doing this mod as a noise mod only....I've talked to protomotive...protosport ...and there going oink with full exaust...intercoolers plumbing....and Custom tune.....

 

Would you be up to it posting a vid...would like to hear that...

 

I'm going to ask GMG next week but does anyone here happen to know if their headers - or any 997TT headers - are California legal (CARB EO)? I kinda doubt it...
