VTG housing question

Would the VTG housings on 997.1 and .2 be t3 or t4 or something completely different? I've googled every possible thing I can think of to even find the BW model used but couldn't.
Thanks in advance

If you are referring to the outer turbo housing/shell, it is made of some sort of nickel alloy I believe from a French Aerospace engineering firm working with BorgWarner and Porsche. A similar material to that used in heat shields on a space shuttle.

See here from BorgWarner publication:

Despite its similarity to the diesel version,
the engineers at BorgWarner had to completely
redevelop the cartridge – the most
important component of the VTG – to meet
the high demands in terms of exhaust gas
temperatures. The particular challenge of
this task was finding highly heat-resistant
materials with the right tribological and
thermal expansion properties that would
allow the necessary surface qualities and
tolerances to be manufactured reliably. In
the course of development, new aerospace
materials were also used, some of which had
never before been used in auto or turbo -
charger design.

The BW model number is in a different thread - is that what you are looking for? I can search for it later if that's what you are looking for. It was in a thread from Champion iirc.

Pretty much, I want to cross reference it to find out about the housing (es: t3 / t4 / etc). I appreciate it. Not only have I googled it but have been searching this forum for about a half hour

PTP has VTG-specific turbo blankets that we have sold to a number of members on here. These will work with all factory cold-side VTG turbos (will not fit over CMS 68mm coldsides).
