What are my "must do's"? Just got my 2008 Turbo Cab home

Hello,

Just picked up my 2008 Turbo Cab in Ohio and drove it home to NY. Had the oil changed during the PPI, I have new filters air and cabin to put in tomorrow.

I was wondering if there are any maintenance items I should get taken care of immediately?

Car has 20k miles on it, we drive it home one weekend and then up to Boston the next. Running great and so different from my 2004 C4S coupe.

I was thinking of bringing it in for a brake flush and coolant flush, anything else?

I also have to fix the bottom skirt on the drivers side, a piece of truck tire hit it and the back edge is out, going to try to put it back on if I can.

Nice to be in the Turbo world!

Will try and get some pics up, having issues from the IPad.

congrats.
If you don't know when the brake fluid was flushed last ( less than 1-2 years), do it.
Same for the front radiators/ ac condensers; remove the front bumper, clean em out.

fuel filter should still be good to go if the car only has 20K miles.

check clutch linkage and condition of brake ducts and lower plastic panels.

look for any wet spots around the front pentosin reservoir, and for leaves and debris build-up around the two drain holes on either side of the battery,

alignment and condition of tires and serpentine belt.

drive it. alot.

I would just take it in for a full service at either a dealer or a good independent Porsche shop that knows what goes into a full Service. That way you have all your bases covered and you can baseline the car.

When was the last time the plugs were changed? Id also check the VTG actuators while your under there. Side skirts are pretty easy to remove and replace, you will need some torx bits for some of the screws.

Unless the car had a flash, i'd wait another 10k miles before the plug service.

Good call on the VTG actuators.

congrats. where is the pic? I think all it 'needs' is the oil and brake flush-of course you can do as much as you want-not much to the 30k service either. Now 40k will get pricey as you will need new plugs as well. Enjoy your new ride!

looks great. Not a 'need' but consider treating the top-a two part deal-wash and then spray. I mask things off like its getting painted. The water will bead like crazy for several months. My 08's top looks like new. js

Plugs are 24k miles or 4 years per latest Porsche guideline vs what was printed in the manual. The belt is also worth doing at this age.

Good to have another Turbo on the Island. She looks good, I would strongly suggest as others have to clean and protect the top. I used the Mr. Ragtop and it keeps the water out and keep the top looking great.

Your car look great, enjoy it in the best of health.
