Arrow Porsche 997.2 turbo and the Mercedes SLS

Does anyone here own a Mercedes SLS?

If so, how does it compare to the 997 turbo? No intention to track...just as a daily driver.

Would appreciate your input

SLS is hard to get in and out of for a DD. I haven't driven one, but sat in it a few times.

^ Come on bro I'm still young for the "hard to get in and out of the car" situation! If the car i'm looking at has doors that go up, I will not complain even if it requires that people push me inside of it! Heheheee

Ride it a couple of times... SLS is a little stiff, when you are inside is very comfortable, rides very smooth, the visability to the rear is little hard, in my opinion the 997 is more easy going DD, but the SLS looks cooler

I have sat in the SLS and can tell you that just like the McLaren, it is awkward to get in an out of and especially all dressed up. My wife did not enjoy getting in and out at all.

It as not really on my short list to consider for purchase honestly, but a friend of mine in a car club owns one and I check it out closely.

Just my 2 cents, you should check out and make your own decision.

Well other than the getting in and out matter, anything else? I saw one today in the parking lot and the engine sound and elegance is superb!

Dude, check the car out. It is common to hit your head on the door getting in and out. It has a huge door sill for the gull wing doors making it very difficult to get in and cramped when you are inside. Horrible depreciation, I've already seen samples less than $150k.

Love the SLS black series. Incredible car. Pretty quick for NA. I ran one in March. Black series has 622 HP stock but the one I raced had Weistec tune and long tube headers. Supposedly added 60 HP to stock but I walked him pretty good in the half mile at NFZ. The guy later added a Weistec blower to it and it still wasn't that fast. We were staged to race again a month later in April at Shift Sector but Weistec pulled the plug on that race. They know I vid everything and so didn't want to owner to race me. I think the trans was torque limited.
