Will be tough to sleep tonight!!
I finally pulled the trigger on a 911 Turbo!! Now I am just waiting on the transport to arrive and that is scheduled for TOMORROW!
After looking into quite a few cars, and walking away from a few interesting ones and a few deals with red flags - i found a car I'm extremely happy with. Very clean car inside and out and a flawless DME with only 2 range 3 overrevs and none in ranges 4,5 or 6!
It is a 2009, 6 speed, black on black with the adaptive sport seats, built in radar and about 39,xxx miles. I found it in Wisconsin, worked out specifics then flew to WI last Wednesday to check it out, drive it and seal the deal. I considered driving it back to TX, but with the long distance and unpredictable weather, i decided to have it shipped.
My father had pre-ordered the 2001 996 turbo back when I was in college and him and I had a blast detailing, driving and tracking that beast for many years before he decided to sell it. Unfortunately for me, that pretty much ruined me for life and i am extremely excited to be picking up my very own 997 version. The 2009 has always been my favorite.
I called my dad and let him know what i was considering doing, and hoping he'd give me a litany of reasons why i shouldn't. His response was quite the opposite, "that sounds great, that's exciting, you should buy it!" So after a response like that from my voice of reason, i knew i had no choice
I think my dad may be just as excited, if not more than I am!
It's shaping up to be a great Christmas!
I'll leave you with this video until the car is delivered and i can post some pics - as this has always been one of my favorites and one to which i can relate!
Hope to have some arrival pictures tomorrow and some fully detailed pictures shortly after that. I have also collected a few mods already and think i have narrowed down my wheel choice to a few options for the spring...

I remember that night for me. It was a long one!
Enjoy your car in the best of health.
I Loved that commercial. Can't say I remember it, but I can relate. That was me, although I live thru the magazines. Never went to the dealer.

Thanks guys!!
Well I spent about 15 months overseas for work, so began searching in my free time. Missed a few cars by dragging my feet, but would search cars.com, autotrader, ebay and the forums weekly and make note of any cars I liked. I would begin asking questions, gathering info on them to determine which were legitimate possibilities. I kept a spreadsheet and when I found a car that ticked all my must have boxes at the right price I didn't hesitate. I had planned to purchase in the winter all along as I figured that was my best option to get a good deal, and it worked!
Good luck in your search, be patient, but if you find "the car" jump on it! Also, stop looking once you've purchased as Murphy's law dictates you'll see an even better one the minute you purchase!

Beautiful car, it didn't take long for you to find your car. I been looking for 2009 low mileage <10k miles low and no tune, no abuse car for about 2 months. But ended up bought 2008 TT and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to see your new photos when she arrive.
