Whats my clutch options?

I just got a 997tt a couple months ago and already got straight pipes and tune. But when I drive in 5th gear and give it the beans my clutch slips. WTF? I'm coming from M3s and it takes more than an exhaust and a tune to make the clutch slip. What would be a good clutch upgrade? Not looking to spend an arm and leg but something reasonable.

Hi J and congrats on the car! There are a few threads on this but it depends on all of your goals. I have the Sachs Sport that everyone loves in stock and ready to go. ERP would be the next step usually. Give me a call if you like and i can help you sort through it.

The Sachs setup is the way to go if looking for a setup that will hold anything the stock turbo can throw at it.

It is the Sachs motorsports pressure plate with part number that ends with 764 along with a variety of different friction discs...which depend on whether or not you keep the stock dual mass flywheel. I used the sachs friction disc instead of an OEM Porsche one. I don't think there is a huge difference in them personally. The engagement point is a bit more abrupt, but clutch firmness is unchanged. Took me a 30 minute drive to get used to the difference and not notice it anymore. It is the most "stock-like" clutch swap I've ever had in a car. Very happy.

yes you can keep your stock DMFW. I have the sachs 2.5 as well and it holds power pretty well.

+1 and there are 750/800 hp cars running it with great results. The flywheels generally are fine.

Yep. Mine looked pristine and I was having a decent amount of slippage. Don't waste the money on a new flywheel unless yours is torched.

You may not be aware but aside from driveability/launchability tradeoffs typical with light weight fw's, the 911 has a noise from them. I find the "can of bolts" sounds at idle in neutral that arist from a lwfw to be really really annoying. Makes the car sound like a hoopty imho, though some guys say they like it.

This is a great read on the "stage 2.5" clutch options:
