SLR spotted on the 405S in LA
SLR spotted on the 405S in LA
Was driving back from LA and a silver SLR shot by at about 90mph. Pretty heavy traffic, so I could not catch up and check it out.
Amazing looking car in person, I never liked the look of it in photos.
Anyone have any idea who it belongs too? Or how many of them have been sold here in California?
I don't get up to LA that much, was that a rare sighting, or are there a few around?

So this is funny. There is a guy in San Diego that owns one, a younger guy. A friend of mine checked out the car, sat in it and asked the owner what the details were on the engine. The guy replied "it's fuel injected" that was it

I rode shotgun with Tommy Kendall behind the wheel of an SLR at Road America this summer. Talk about sensory overload! BTW, I agree the sound under full throttle is far more impressive than I expected!
Side note, I got an invitation from Mercedes to test drive the SLR at Homestead a couple weeks ago (included accommodations at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach & private dinner the night before). Work schedule made it impossible - anyone here attend?
