Porsches Vs. GTR

Hey speeder , hope you all fine
And everybody enjoying his car ..
I would like to have and ask those with racing EXP .. That do real street racing .. I noticed that GTRs reached good performance results 1/4 , 1/2 , top speed etc etc etc !! Better than Porsches .. Way better .. But even .. From my own exp .. Porsches can kill and GTR if both of them are less than 1000hp .. But after that 1200+ GTRs are way faster than Porsches !!! My question is WHY ?

In my car .. Which its 1000hp 3.8L 35s and built engine .. I killed all GTRs ( 1100awhp -1000awhp ) but when GTRs got 37s turbos .. He kill me all the way !!! I know 37s produce a lot of HP .. But I guess even if someone prepare a Porsche with 1400hp Vs. GTR 1400 , the GTR will be faster !!!
Because I saw many 1300-1400 Porsches , they still slower than GTRs ( 60-130 , 1/4mile , 1/2 mile etc etc )
Thanks in advance .. (No cars war , only getting info )

In theory the best hp/weight ratio will win but at those insane power levels i believe that the aero and weight advantage of Porsche no longer counts.

I guess that the main factor is traction and that the GTR being a fat pig may turn it into an advantage. The awd system can also be more efficient than Porsche at those levels.

Gearing is also important. GTR's with +1000hp need to have built gearboxes, so maybe they also put specific gearing ratio for that power. The 9ff gearbox with longer gears may shave a few tens on a +1400hp car.

Just boost your Porsche to 5,000 HP and you should be fine. Or even 10,000 HP. That would do it.

I've out ran every GTR that has similar power than me. Even gtrs with more power. Transmission plays an important factor.

As far as gearing , you are right buddy , GTRs gearing (shifting speed , no lag , TB response is better than Porsches !!!

The question is , do u think one day Porsche will reach the GTRs performance ## ??

It is all about the money but i believe that the PDK turbo will get it there. Just need some brave companies willing to spend huge cash to develop this plataform. The same that happened with the GTRs.

Porsche is a brand that is in the middle. Very rich guys obsessed with insane power levels want a more exclusive car and prefer a TT Lambo. The average guy with the same obsession prefer cheaper cars with a wider/cheaper aftermarket offer like jap cars or US muscle cars.

Agree 100% !

The good thing .. GTRs companies now have bolt-ones /built engine / built gearbox 1500hp / 1700hp packages ! Proven too !!

Not same as Porsches which still under 1000hp kit proven !!

I think it's has to do with smaller horsepower we have smaller turbos which aren't that laggy but when your talking big turbos like 35's or 37's. You have to build boost in every shift where the gtr the bigger the turbos, lag isn't an issue once it's moving.

You are right , but let's say .. Both GTR and Porsche ran the same turbos .. An example 35s ... Still the GTR will kill !!! I saw GTR ran 40psi with 35 turbos .. Which I did not see any Porsche with 35s ran that amount of boost !!!
I hope one day we reach that limit ..

You are correct. If a Porsche has the same power as a GTR it will win everytime from a roll. From a drag race no though.

Don't worry. Your Porsche brothers with PDK and launch control easily out-launch a comparable-power GTR.

When I won the SoCal Euro 1/8 mile drag event, I beat an Alpha 9 GTR making 1,000 HP. We both had R888 tires. And I was only making 600 wheel HP. PDK ftw.
