turbo S pampered w/ Modesta Glass Coating

My turbo S and I have a simple contract, it takes care of me and I'll take care of it! After a grueling winter in our Northeast and a 2-day track event at Limerock Park, the TTS was overdue for some TLC! Enter the maestros at Detailers Domain in Norwood NJ. For those in the know, Phil and his crew need no introduction, otherwise, these are the guys you want to entrust your car to.

The Work
Remove and replace old clear film (3M Pro)
Prep the car for full paint correction to prepare for new clear film and Modesta coating.
Install new clear film* on the full front end of the car (wrap all edges)
Apply Modesta Primer P-01A (resin)
Cure
Apply Modesta Coating BC-05
Cure under heat lamps
Opticoat Pro on the center-lock wheels
Full interior detail
Engine cleaning

*Clear Film

Full Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection Film
Full Hood
Full Fenders
Full Bumper
Mirrors

The difference versus my other paint correction work (on prior cars) was the application of Modesta glass coating. Modesta is a highly durable clear glass coating applied over the car's paint. Modesta is known for three things (1) its strong water-repelling properties, (2) its remarkable durability, lasts between 3-10yrs with outstanding protection against the worst kind of contamination and oxidation and (3) its unique "candy-like" gloss finish (the pictures don't do it justice)!

Originally developed in Japan, Modesta made its way Stateside a few years ago and is quickly becoming the coating of choice for those of us who aren't into waxing our cars every other month and want the best all-around coating available.

Verdict
To say that I am happy with the result is an understatement! The turbo S looks better than the day I picked it up! Other sealants such as Opticoat Pro or CQuartz Finest are ceramic polymer based and don't come close to the gloss finish afforded by Modesta! Other silica or glass based coatings can't quite achieve Modesta's nano-titanium water repellant and durability properties.

The car is currently in my garage as it requires another 2 weeks to fully cure (drivable but should not be washed yet), after which I am told the gloss will be even more pronounced. Washing the car should be a breeze with mild car shampoo, as dirt simply doesn't adhere to the coating (a pressure washer is really all that is needed) and maintenance should be very easy with the Modesta M1 Shot quick detail spray.

Thanks to Phil and his crew at Detailers Domain for an excellent and outstanding job, these guys are amazing!

Folks, this is worth considering for your car...my turbo S is loving it!! Enjoy a few pics... (I have a 2-day track event at NJMP on June 5-6th, I'm considering skipping it, the TTS looks too good to track)

Very nice!! Car looks beautiful, but definitely not too good to pass on a track day! Plus then you can have the joy of washing it afterwards

Whenever you're ready to part with that aero kit wing, let me know

Thanks Kricci, I agree, I doubt I could pass up a track day. Limerock down, NJMP, Monticello and Watkins Glen to go...having this much fun is almost unfair!

For sure on the aero kit wing, it gives the rear of the car that 'little something'

Thanks Chris. the glass coating protection is nice on a black car (we know how hard they are to keep clean), and this should help. The added gloss effect is just a bonus.

I am still trying to figure out whether I can make BK Boosting's ATCO track rental on June 8th. I'm already looking at a three-day weekend with my June 5-6th track days, going to a four-day weekend by adding ATCO on Monday, June 8th would be FUN but... I've got to show up to work at some point!! It would be nice to meet everyone again though...

I agree. I have 22PLE on my car but its about 3 years old and needs to be redone. I was looking at the Modesta or the new 22PLE v2 that came out.
Just did my daily driver with Opti-coat since I was looking for durability over gloss

technik1 is infamous around these parts
Opti Pro Plus

Obi the TTS does look fantastic, even in the pics.

Should be noted that Opti released their Pro Plus which is a Gloss coat applied an hour after their ceramic coat. And they cure together. Just re-did my black Range Rover and has a deeper, wet gloss. I picked up a black TTS gonna do that next.

Thanks Gus. I've got to stop by and check out the shop and the Range Rover, you always have the best new stuff (and some great ideas)! The V1 and LI install has been great! Folks keep asking about the integrated rear-view mirror indicators and commending the quality of the overall stealth install...thanks Gus!

Thanks Maverick! I wish I could take credit but the real credit goes to the awesome craftsmanship of Phil and the guys at Detailers Domain and the amazing products they use. Modesta coating is quite sophisticated and aimed for professional use only (even it if were DIY, I wouldn't have done it myself...haha).
