GT3 Front Bumper on TT?

Hey guys,
AS some of you may have read my other thread, I've been toying with the idea of selling the TT.

I got to thinking...
Maybe instead of selling it, change it up a bit. I plan on wrapping it a new color in the next month or so.
Also I remembered seeing a thread where The Race Development Center built a "Cup" Turbo out of a 997TT. On this car, they used a GT3 front and rear bumper and I instantly loved the look of.
I've never been a huge fan of the TT front bumper. The fogs seem out of place to me.

So in an effort to "refresh" my car, I was thinking of attempting to fit a 997.2 GT3 front bumper to my car.

Has anyone in the group done this?
Thoughts?

I'm sure most of you will think I'm crazy....I may be

It can be done, but you will have to do some duct and radiator modifications, as the ducting system is different, as well as, perhaps modifying the lighting harness for the DRL that comes with the 997.2 GT3. There was a member from ?Greece who did it and he said it required some substantial modifications to make it work. Do a search on 6speedonline.

Nicely done. Is this your car? If so, did you have to do modifications to the radiator ducts or buy new ducting, as well as, purchasing new radiators? I see you kept the Turbo front markers...nice touch.

Nope, it's bbiturbo's car. Just wanted to provide photos for the OP's reference. I think the car above uses all oem bumpers and parts with new ducting. There are a few aftermarket companies such as Getty design that do make gt3 bumpers for turbos though. Might want to check with them. Imo, a gt2 bumper or a Vorsteiner bumper would look better on a 997tt.

As someone else said. Do a GT2 conversion. Don't get the vorsteiner kit, it fits poorly and bottoms out as well. Even bbi doesn't recommend them anymore.

Don't get the vorsteiner kit. I got it for my car as they said it was a direct oem replacement/bolt on. Well long story short. Brought the car in to install the complete kit, two weeks later car went home with no kit. Nothing fit correctly!

I don't think any after market parts will fit perfect on our cars, even the best require a little TLC or massage to get it fit well

Bumping this from the grave!

Im pursuing this mod on my 997.1 TT. Plan is to use an OEM front bumper from a 997.2 GT3. The question is, five years down the line in 2020, do we have a comprehensive list of what needs to be done to make it fit a 997TT?

Which radiators, ducts, vents, etc. need to be changed for it to mount and work?
