high RPM high boost miss (ignition breakup)

I have been only running about E50 because my fuel system was maxed. Thanks to SRM and Sam, I now have a decent fuel pump setup.

I switched to E85, but now (with the same boost.. roughly 25psi) I get a bad miss top of 3rd and then 4th. Bad enough it wont pull at all.

wondering if the higher fuel volume is overwhelming the stock ignition system (Coils). I have colder plugs gapped down a bit.

Anybody have similar experience at ~700-800rw on E85?

E50 or less and it SEEMs to run fine! Also at lower boost/loads its fine.

I have Garth reviewing my logs to make sure its not in the tune.

A miss and nothing else changed? I would change the plugs first and the first step in troubleshooting.

Just a stab in the dark, but Mitch at Cobb posted comment about loose FPR hose causing lean mixture. Might be worth taking a look.

SRM fuel setup issue that Sean needs to address. he is sending WAYYY to much fuel down to the jet pumps, one of several issues he needs to address...

You upped the pumps, but what injectors do you have? 80# would be maxed out at your hp level, 1000s might be maxed out. So you could be out of injector.

Mark is right. Installing a restrictor tonight.

CHK-im monitoring fuel pressure (proEFI).. its dipping. My big *** injectors and proEFI are probably the only thing that saved me!

I'm running 2 455lph pumps (opened up stock surge tank) with a home made restrictor you can see in my thread with 1300cc injectors on E85 (actually 84% methanol). I put in evoms coils when I did the build. No miss fire or lean conditions at 855whp.

Jordan is the man. You have been great to work with bud. Hopefully that restrictor will hit the spot. I know from the sidelines that mark has been super helpful and Sean is on it.

I'm about to order one of these as well. Is there a revision to the design coming or is the fix just the restrictor?

Jordan, stock ignition coils were fine for me around 22-23psi on e85. I'm running the EvoMS coils on the car now though.

you're fuel pressure logs would tell you if the pumps were having issues.

probably already know that though

edit: you did know that already. :P

Good luck man!!!
