The new Mercedes S class has a sophisticated radar-based braking system - when it works. A TV demonstration ended up in a 3-car pile-up when the S-class' safety radar failed.

Seems that they are using a GPS system since the engineers are saying the system failed because it was in a metal hall. You would think that an "engineer" would think about things like this first.
