la sleeves shardul. you can do either 3.6 or 3.8 depending how far you want to go. you will need steel rings as well. you can reuse the nikasil pistons

Detonation from what? Ouch.

As mentioned, BBi sells a 4.0 liter kit for the 997.2. I'm sure they can source stock 3.8 sleeves as well if need be

Feel free to contact us for more info. We have been doing this on a lot of Gen 2 blocks. We are doing a nikasil-coated cylinder liner that we have seen to be extremely strong.

do you require the pistons for the liners to be made? how are you calculating the thickness of the nickasil?

The kit that we are doing requires the pistons and rings to be compatible with the nikasil. The thickness of the nikasil is factored in with the pistons as we are doing this as a package. During assembly, the liner receives a honing process to create an exact piston to cylinder wall clearance that our engine builder wants. The exact number is proprietary, but the number is very close to that of the GT3 Cup.

i understand the process. so what you are saying is you don't actually do liners as a replacement but rather complete kits similar to what fvd sells. he isn't looking for a complete kit if i read the o/p correctly but rather a used liner or a set of liners to use with the original pistons

Interesting
Do you offer pistons/sleeves and rods for 991tt also ?

Are these for the 997.2? Doesn't look that way and that is what the thread is about
