Hi all,
Trying to pick an exhaust for my 997.1T. The short list is the usual suspects (Europipe, AWE, speed tech, 911tuning). I really had my heart set on finding something that came with (or could be adapted to) RSR style tips (as seen on the AWE 997.2T exhaust).
Any thoughts on and exhaust that can be ordered as such? Or why no one has done this to date? Any help is appreciated!
I recently installed a Europipe Stage 2 exhaust that was built for the GT2, with GT2 Tips, and it fits my 997.1TT oem (non-gt2) bumper fine. The tips stick out very slightly, as the GT2 Bumper is slightly longer, but I actually really enjoy the look, albeit it is slightly aggressive. I'll try to find a photo to post. I may be one of the few that have this, as I haven't seen any pictures myself.
Another option you might like from Kline Innivation. Full stainless steel construction with handmade titanium mufflers. Sounds awesome! I have three inbound.

Would love to see this. Thank you and please do try to find a photo!

Thank you! Do you have a photo of this with the .1T bumper on? Also looking for a mild sounding exhaust (car is a daily driver). Based on the resonators in the photo, I'm going to guess that this is louder than I'd prefer. Are there other options?
We have 70mm systems as well. Will work on some photos for you. If you would like you can text me. I have tons of vids and stuff in my phone. The 3" does not drone on a 997TT. Really well done by Kline and I have a guarantee for this reason!
We can make you our 2.5 quiet X-Pipe exhaust with in-line mufflers and GT2 RS style tips as pictured below, which was done for another customer...it's very quiet and extremely comfortable in the cabin, no drone whatsoever and the tips are beautifully finished. Not to mention outstanding sound quality!
Also, it's available either with our HJS cats or catless.
Excuse the crappy iphone pics, I just took them this morning behind my office about 10 minutes ago. I haven't had the chance to take photos with the SLR. Also, coilovers are going on in December, so please no judgements on the wheel gap! The pics definitely make it seem worse than in person!
I have a strong feeling that a fair amount of people won't like the look of these tips with the OEM bumper. Personally, I didn't think I would either but instead of getting some new tips welded on, I opted to take a chance and see what the GT2 tips would look like. I was pleasantly surprised! Sure, they would look better with the GT2 rear bumper, but for now, the sound and look are perfectly fine for me. Given it is an aggressive aftermarket exhaust, I think the aggressive style of the tips goes fine, at least in my opinion.
I bought the Europipe Stage 2 exhaust off another forum member who had a GT2 bumper, but Stef at Europipe went out of his way to communicate with me about the exhaust and confirmed the tips would fit the 997.1 TT OEM bumper. Very nice guy BTW.
The exhaust sounds sooooo good. Like many have said, it doesn't seem as loud as you would have imagined, but trust me, if you are outside the car it is quite loud. The turbo spooling is very noticeable too. I'm doing a video review soon, so I'll keep further comments for that.
OP, I hope this is helps you. There are definitely options out there. Good luck making up your mind!

Thank you for posting this Ron. Your car looks great. My car also has fender gap - I drive it daily and can't stand dragging the front on inclines. The system looks boss, exactly the look I'm after. I might be int he minority here: Porsche got a lot of things right with this car...the exhaust tips was not one of them.
Thank you all for trying to help me find what I'm looking for. I've given it a lot of thought...really been on this journey for 6 months trying to figure out what I wanted. If I didn't live in CA I'd get a Kline, SpeedTech, AWE, or 911tuning. I see massive benefit to the modularity and being able to run catless (in the future) if I moved out of state, as well as the weight reduction.
That said, given the current regulations of this place I'm going to end up with a europipe stg2 setup as above. It looks very close to factory and I can not stomach having to swap systems every two years for smog, due to failing visual. I'm still convinced no state hates its residents like CA. Damn shame.
Good choice on the EP2. I have one and its superb. No issues as a dd - really is a well judged and beautifully made exhaust. I've always found mine quieter than expected. Its quite loud from outside but inside the car very easy to live with

I have an EP1 on the way, plus coil overs ordered...which ones did you choose?

Thanks! Any chance you can upload an in car video clip? The out of car clips that I've found actually don't sound that loud to me, but a new out of car would be awesome as well. I definitely don't want to be "that guy" pulling into the parking garage at work. Love the turbo whistle and burble of the EP2. The EP1 sounds awesome, but a bit mild IMO, but its so hard to tell from video.

its not obnoxious. This is the best quality vid imo. Inside not much louder than stock but you won't be able to tell on avid due to poor recording capability.
