Longboarder Vid @ Shift S3ctor Exotic Airstrip Attack
Only did a couple runs in the 997.2. New fuel system allowed for a lot more top end than the stock system could handle however placement of the new fuel system hardware caused a code and resulting limp on every run (getting fixed now). Despite that had two runs where I didn't limp until the very end of the half mile. As posted in my previous thread vBox accel stats were better than ever before in such high DA (2,500-2,700 feet):
60-130 6.1-6.2 seconds
1/4 mile 139.9
1/2 mile 167.66
I didn't get many races in the 991 either. I asked but not a lot of people in the other cars wanted to race as the 911 Turbo's flat out dominated everything at the event.
Cheers.

Thx gents!
I have found that the 991 with just a tune is pretty much the fastest tune only car 0-130 on the planet with the exception of the 918 and maybe the Veyron (although the Veyron would be close). I can't think of any other car with just a tune including the P1 that could keep up. It is very efficient with it's tiny 56mm turbos. On pump with a couple gallons of e85 it did a 6.6 60-130 verified on a relatively flat slope of -0.5 on my very first try. I'm sure I can drop a couple tenths off that. I doubt the 997.2 TTS tune only can do that. Even tho it has the same motor and trans, the hardware on the 991 is more improved.
The 991 will stay tune-only while I figure out how far to take the 997.2 now that I have a much more robust fuel system.

Take care,

Great vids and stats LB. Whats frightening on your 997.2 t is I still think there's significant improvement once you've debugged the new fuel system - to gain same performance on gen 1 997 t platform you need built engine and 800hp. Agree re 991.1 turbo = rapid out of the box.

When it was happy it was fast Adam! You could totally tell when you had a good run vs a limp mode run.
991TT all the way though guys! All the 991TT's were KILLING it! Especially the white ones!

Bro, Austin@GIAC has a pic where it looks like my front tires came off the ground on the launch. On stock tires and crappy surface. The launch on the 991 is no joke!
By the way what did you get into? A GT3?
AWD+Turbo+PDK is certainly formidable recipe! Porsche gets all the credit.
The 991 has much more potential because of a larger stock fuel system so you can take advantage of larger turbos. But if you are keeping turbos stock, the 997.2's are larger (56mm for the 991 vs 61mm for the 997.2).
The race against the Agate Grey 991 is forum member Mark Blackwell. On that same setup (GIAC Stg 2 with MT drag radials) he did a 10.1 at 134.Xmph which is the USA record for stock turbos with no nitrous. As you can see I flew away from him in my 997.2 which also has stock turbos.

Funny thing I actually hit the rev limiter on my launch which stalled the car for a split second. If you watch the vid again you can see my momentum slowing just after the start. But it didn't matter...cause 660 Porsche horsepower is obviously much faster than 731 Ferrari horsepower
