Dropped the Cobalt Turbo off for springs/troubleshoot (update)
Hi Everyone,
I finally got around to dropping my car to Bill Rudtner to have my H&R springs installed. I am also having him go through the entire car from top to bottom.
His inspection will include looking into the clutch chatter as well. We suspect there may be a LW flywheel installed with the Sachs clutch which the PO may not have been aware of. The chatter is unbearable at idle (for me at least)- especially with the A/C on idle and with sport mode off.
Also on the list will be the second gear pop out, and occasional stalling I've mentioned earlier.
Depending on the prognosis, I'll drop the engine now or later and fix all of the above and pin the coolant lines and replace the water pump. The coil packs were done by the PO already.
I've attached a couple of pics of the track beasts they have over there.
While the turbo is down, I picked up a 2006 Boxster for the wife which I will drive around (when I can get it away from her). It's a 2 owner car with only 18k miles on it that I picked up for dirt cheap. The exterior is midnight blue with natural leather interior. It's a non S and tip, but a perfect little rig for my wife to use. Everything works as it should and there is not a scratch on it.
I'll update this thread when I get more detail on what the turbo needs, and also when the adv.1 wheels arrive for it (eta 2 weeks)

Update on the progress of the turbo:
-Springs are installed and had to replace the rubber bushings on top of the front shocks as they were worn.
-The pollen filter was filthy.. replaced..
-Flush brake system.
-oil and filter was done about 1500 miles ago.
-coolant was done recently.
-Once the nice weather leaves us here on the Northeast we are going to:
-pull the engine and pin the coolant lines since they are not leaking/look ok.
-pull and open the gear box and replace whatever is needed.
-inspect the clutch and flywheel.
-So far no hoses or clamps have turned up loose to possibly cause the stalling I've described. So I called Todd from Promotive and described the issue. My car has a MAFless tune, and I told him that I had notice that both sensors were plugged in since I have owned the car. We are thinking the place I had the PPI done must have plugged them in which could be confusing the car a bit. I am going to un-plug both and disconnect the batter for a reset. I am also going to send Todd some data logs as he suspects that he may have to fine tune things a bit.
Wheels should be here in a week.. will post pics when I get a chance and the car is clean.
