Oil leak front diff area ?

So I have an oil leak at the front diff area it doesn't look like the diff seals as they look bone dry, I had the slave cylinder changed last year as the reservoir in the front compartment was overflowing and leaking which I thought was running down into the diff area however its not that this time as the pipe reservoir area is dry.

Not sure what else their is in this area that can leak oil you can see from the pictures it appears to be coming from the left side (as you look forward) as you can see oil on the retaining strap

any suggestions appreciated

Gaz

From what i understand this is pretty common in the 997...but i'm no authority. Mine is leaking as well. I have a plan over the fall/winter to pull mine and have a re-build done.

Think the culprit might be the steering rack
