I took my car to a local 1/8 mile drag strip last night to compare my times to an outing I had a week prior at a 1/4 mile track. Better air and a lil cooler temps netted me some good results.
Car is 2011 Turbo S with only a Europipe and Sportec tune.. I drove the car to the track, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and ran a 6.95 at 101mph! Couldn't be more pleased with how the car acts.
I'm teaching my wife to drag race too, so she made most of the passes last night.. Her best run was an 8.01 at 89 mph... Although she followed up that run with a 96 mph pass, which equates to lots of wheel spin with a slightly slower et of 8.06! As the temps go down in another month or so, and I get more seat time, this car will get faster.
1st pass of the night right after getting to the track.
awesome man. I wanted to head up but got tied up on a few other things.
Thanks, man! Too bad you couldn't make it.., we had fun. We're gonna go back to the Motorplex in a week or so to get some more seat time. The car feels great, just getting used to launching the car and it's differences between my old car and this one.
Quasi embarrassing... I know so little about these cars! I fancied myself quite knowledgable about my Corvette. Modding it, parts that were used on modding it, the intricacies of the engine, drivetrain... But, this car I'm just starting to scratch the surface on even understanding the basic make up of it.
I'll have had it 3 weeks this Friday, and it's been to the drag strip twice already, made 8 passes so far, and I'm learning more about it each day. Awesome car to say the least! I've always loved these cars, just now in a position to finally own one! I feel so blessed and fortunate.., seems like everyone I've met so far is more than willing to offer assistance in my quest for knowledge too.
