Motor is coming out of the 997,

I am doing:

Plugs
Cool packs
Injectors
Clutch
Intercoolers

What preventive or other things I'm forgetting should I do while the engine is out?

oil and fuel filters, serpantine belt, and possibly water pump if it hasnt been replaced.

 

Weld coolant pipes, shark werks coolant elbows, there are few other coolant lines up top off the coolant recirculating pump I like to do if car has higher miles. Any other gaskets that have an sign of seeping, also not a bad idea to replace the roller bearing on the slave actuator rod.

 

Replace any gasket and most importantly, any O-ring that you can...

 

Replace the rubber sleeves between Plenum and Air intake. Easy check if engine is out, a nightmare if the engine is in.

--> Boostleak fixed, no more speed spikes at startup, all 4 clamps will hold and smooth engine run at idle...

 

i found those sleeves for 5$ each online. beats the 20$ each pcar dealer wants!

 

All the above are great ideas. I would also recommend RSS motor mounts.

Also the function first transmission mount and a swap from the hydraulically assisted clutch pedal to a GT2, BBI, Evoms setup is another good upgrade as well.

 

water pump....... pully and belts ...

 

Inlet pipes (if you're going to do them at all but since you're doing coolers figured you probably are). Easier while the engine is out and much easier to remove the stock units without cutting them in half while the engine is in.
