Lowered your turbo... any front bumper protection ideas?

Hey All,

Just lowered the turbo and the front lip scrapes, I just replaced and repainted the lip so I'd like it to last a bit longer lol... Any ideas for something to install so that the lip doesnt get scraped/chipped?

I thought I saw something in the past but not sure!

Good question! I came across this new company Scrape Armor. I did not see anything for 997 so I submitted a request to see if they would consider making one for the 997. You should do the same if interested.

When you lower the lip becomes more or less a consumable part .... Helps they are relatively cheap ...

^^^ What he said. The over hang on the 911 is ridiculous. It makes the Turbo and GT variants particularly challenging to keep scrape free.

Mine is a consumable piece as well. I would love to paint it, but my car is lowered and it would be an exercise in futility.

thats my point its painted, and silver to make it even more noticeable, I've gone through a few of them and that just seems silly, to consider it consumable.

There should be a product out there that can save us the headache.

^^ if you find it.. I want it too!

Aside from putting a lift kit on the nose I dont see it happening.

Paint flexes on the lip and flakes, chips. If you go with a hard surface like CF.. it breaks..

Yeah, it's the overhang that's the deal breaker. My modified Lotus was lower, and over several years I only scraped my aftermarket carbon fiber splitter once, and it was very slight. The overhangs on the Exige are very short. I was easily able to avoid it by entering/exiting at angles and trying to get my front wheel to hit first or very early. I thought I could do the same with my 997TT and I still scrape. It's annoying, and keeps me from getting a nicer splitter even though the one on there with scrapes from the previous owner irritates me every time I look at it.

Maybe try clear bra on the lip with the thickest material. or perhaps Opticoating it might help?

I have clear bra on my lip (and the entire front half). It catches the asphalt and separates from the painted surface and eventually looks worse
