997.2 TTS Bolt-on vBox Results from Airstrip Event
So I got back from a weekend at an airstrip event (Shift Sector). The car was literally unbeatable in a half mile race from a dig even though my meth injection stopped working early in the event. Will have a video of my races shortly.
Prior to the meth clog, my vBox was showing some pretty stellar results. For those of you that attend these events, you know that this is not where good results come from. Also with the recent rains, traction was non-existent due to sand and debris all over the launch pad. It was like launching on an ice rink. I was one of the only cars out of a couple hundred using launch control - and took at lot of work - heavily feathering the throttle in 1st gear otherwise I'd blow the tires off.
Mods are light and simple:
GIAC tune
Champion intercoolers
custom meth system
BBI 200 cel catted exhaust
IPD plenum and Y pipe
BMC air filter
Toyo R888 tires on GMG LMS wheels
Car has stock fuel system, original factory stock turbos and diverter valves. Car now has 43,000 miles and not a hiccup. The car is not tuned for meth. It uses a GIAC OTS map. Anyone can replicate my setup.
Here's some of the vBox runs. I sent my .dbn file to some other members to show them that these weren't one off. All my runs were like this until meth stopped. For such a simple setup the car is just a beast.

tune on 93oct with 6s 60-130mph is coming from another planet.
Hahha right? I've seen Custom Cobb tuning by ESMotor doing 60 to 130 in mid 5s already for this platform. Amazing stuff.
went out and tested 3llooi's 997.2 turbo tuned by Emre and full bolt ons. and wow all i can say that car is super fast had the Vbox and it was doing 5.4 60-130s the only thing is that Vbox had the problem where it doesnt read slope or else we would have posted it here. Will try with my Vbox and hopefully let ali post it here. but awesome numbers, and well done to Emre and the Esmotor team they are just breaking records out there.

This tune is meant for longevity. I have launched this car hundreds maybe thousands of times. And tracked it a few times. And it has 43,000 miles. It still has the original factory stock turbos. And of course has never had an issue with the motor or PDK. Cars that push the envelope that attend these airstrip events have gone though blown turbos with "custom" tunes.
I wanted to show what this OTS tune can do on a very mild bolt on car. The car has stock headers and cats and isn't tuned for meth so it will not be the fastest 997.2 in the world in terms of posting numbers. But when it comes to overall setup and actually racing perhaps
as I was able to beat (twice) the 997.2 BBI 4.0 striker built PDK upgraded turbo with dual stage meth system in a half mile dig race this weekend, including on their half mile record setting run of 173.X mph. My car is maybe making 600 wheel, but everything with it is perfectly dialed in. Traction, launch, suspension, etc. Do I want for the car to have more power? Not really. It just works. No issues. And it's dialed in at every level. I'm working on my upgraded Turbo 991 TTS which should give me low 5-second 60-130's and 170+ half mile trap speeds when done. But you know what, in a half mile dig race it couldn't touch my 997.2. I have raced plenty of 170 and 180+ half mile trap speed 991 and 997.2 PDK Turbo, GTR and other AWD cars and my 997.2 always finishes first. It's perfectly set up so I don't want to mess with it.
I'm working on vids of my last weekend at Shift Sector. Should be up soon.

yeah the BBI car is fast in the triple digits. My vid shows the car is coming up strong after I got a healthy lead. This wasn't driven by the customer owner it was driven by BBI driver Jerrod D. What they did to bridge the gap on the stock fuel system in terms of the dual stage meth system is pretty neat. Props those BBI guys are awesome.
By the way what are your goals with the car?

2012 997.2 turbo s coupe.
But right before warranty goes up I'll probably want to do full bolt ons and leave the fuel system stock for the most part.
Hey what's up brother. So yeah I do plan to put the upgraded fuel system back on the 997.2 but only for better stability and a more linear tune. I will keep the stock turbos on the car. It will also be to test the longevity of the fuel system for GIAC/Champion. But certainly it will be a little faster than what it is now. Probably a 141-143 1/4 trap car at a very friendly (safe) torque level to keep the motor/rods happy.
But surely there will be other GIAC/Champion customers that will push the limit of the motor/trans and in addition to the fuel system add upgraded turbos. I don't have the appetite for that on this car but look forward to whoever does!
