Deactivate brake pedal depress to start?

Called dealer to schedule oil change and brake flush. Inquired regarding whether he could disable the depress brake pedal to start on my 10 TT Cab with PDK. I was advised they could not perform this task as the computer would not allow it.

I'm nearly certain others have made this change - can anyone confirm it is in fact possible?

Thanks in advance.

Why would it be a recipe for disaster? - I merely want the ability to start my car without depressing the brake pedal. I prefer to start the car and let it warm up a few minutes prior to driving - it's not terribly inconvenient to sit in the car for a few moments to start but if the programing can be changed, why not?

I'm pretty sure it's an easy thing to do. Doubt you'll get a dealership to do it though. Legal issues in case someone starts up your car while in gear and runs over or crushes someone.

I was going to add a clutch-stop that I bought several years ago since my clutch engages waaaay at the top of the throw. Bypassing the clutch switch will be necessary to do this. I still haven't installed it b/c I'm afraid one of my young children will accidentally try to start the car while in gear and crush someone.

I do not see any issues with it either. Makes it easy to start from outside when you are doing work on it, and/or it is on a lift. I disabled mine a couple of years ago on a 997.1 with my Durametric Pro.

No disasters yet

Good luck,
DC

As stated above, probably will be hard pressed to find a dealer to do it simply for liability reasons. If it's possible might have better luck at an indy shop

I'd be afraid of a child starting the car while in-gear, but I guess that would be an odd scenario to begin with
