Any concern with purchasing a 2010 PDK first year car?

Hey guys,

I have a friend looking to pick up a 2010 Turbo, I know that was the first year for the PDK in these cars. I know it's a Porsche but sometimes buyers are leery of first year hardware. How are the 2010 PDK cars holding up and if it passes a PPI would there be any concern in picking one up?

Lastly the car will most likely be modded. Exhaust/tune/intercoolers/vtg upgrade. Does that change anyones opinion on picking up a 2010 PDK and is there software tuning available for those or no?

Thanks everyone!

Whatever you do just make sure it has Sport chrono package. Some 2010s did not have them.

I’d say Sport chrono package and the sport plus option ( which enables launch control ) ... on my second 997.2 turbo 2010 pdk I had the sport chrono package but without the sport + option ...

never had any issue otherwise but the car stayed stock.

Important to buy a virgin non molested pdk car... a many of tunes I see hit 1.5 plus bar... longevity is the key and the pdk is the weak link,

Should be just fine with the info discussed above. PDK first appeared in 09 in the NA cars and they should have worked-out any issues by 2010. I would not hesitate to buy a 2010 PDK TT.

Correct.. PDK was introduced before the 2010 turbo.
