Ride Height Question
Ride Height Question
I have a buddy with a 2007 997.1 TT with 235/35/20 Pirellis in front and I have a 2010 997.2 TT with 245/30/20 MPSS in the front and we're both using Eibach springs. His clearance at the front aero lip is 4.25 inches and my clearance is 6 inches. What accounts for this 1.75 inch difference?
Something is up, your tires are almost 1 inch smaller in diameter than his. Try your numbers here:

Were both springs bought new? I thing some of these springs sag over time.
To me it seems the 997.1 drop is lower with aftermarket springs.
I've seen several on h&r springs and they seemed slammed in front compared to 997.2 on springs.

If the drop on a 997.1 TT is lower than on my 997.2 TT, that would explain it. But why? Isn't the OEM ride height the same for gen 1 and gen 2?
My springs were new and I think his were too.
And like lliejk says, my tires are almost an inch shorter in diameter which should have brought us closer to the same measurement.

Try this:
1. Measure from the fender lip centered above the tire to the ground
or
2. Measure from the center of the wheel to the ground
or
3. Measure from the "correct" ride height points (I would have to do some research on exactly where these points are, but if I recall correctly, they are bolts on fixed points of the suspension attachment to the body)
