Cayenne 958 No Sound - Strange wiring

Hello,
Just bought 2014 Cayenne from USA with Boss sound system but when the car came I realized that it has no sound (stereo works fine, rear camera works etc..). I invited an electrician and he said that stereo head unit don't see Amplifier. So I've took my Boss Amplifier to my friend's car (same Cayenne but a bit older - 2011). We have connected my amp to he's sound system and it works just fine. So Amplifier is ok. Then we took my stereo head unit and connected to he's sound system, works fine. We realized that the wiring causing problems. When I took out my stereo head unit I've noticed some weird wiring in the main stereo plug (please see image)

This is my wiring.. Someone definitely had some extra paper tape...
One the image below my friend's wiring. Nice wiring with no extra nonsense..

When I took out green socket from my Plug I've discovered strange thing inside (don't know how It's called, sorry)

So I wanted to ask if anyone know's what it is and how it's called? We did run some tests on this thing and found out that the electricity is not running from one end to the other. It looks like a little fuse which is broken. Where to find a replacement?
Will be happy if community can provide some answers to my questions.
Thanks.

It's a round black tubular shaped thing with 2 leads, 1 on each end. That could be a LOT of different components.

Your friend's connector shows a RED wire going to the position on the connector. Is the other end of the mystery device connected to a red wire coming from that cable. Red is typically a power lead. I looked at a number of Cayenne diagrams, and it appears that Pin A1 on one of the connectors goes to "Terminal 30" Terminal 30 is a 12.6V connection AFAIK (As is Terminal 15) - . Terminal 30 is constant power, Terminal 15 is ignition switched power. So if that is Pin A1 - it should have 12.6V on it at all times.

It's possible there was an electrical noise problem of some sorts with the PCM and someone tried to eliminate that by adding a noise suppressing "choke" on that power line. That's just a guess. What the rest of the mess probably has to also be explored also.

I assume you've checked all the fuses on the fuse panels (both of them) at the ends of the dash? Then it's time to measure the voltage at where the red wire connects to the mystery device.

As far as the mystery device itself - I try to remove the covering on it so we can get an eyeball on it and see what it actually is, that should give us some clue as to the reason for being there.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. The fuses seem to be ok. I've took the black cover from the thing and it appears that It has some color lines on the blue body. Please see image below. Any idea where to order similar thing?

Thanks.

It's a resistor - and there are lots of places to order them - but I doubt if that one is bad - when they go bad there are usually burn marks on the outside. If you can find anyone with an ohmmeter (like a Harbor Freight $3.99 one) you could check the value. If you take a closeup of the color bands in really good lighting (use your flash) on it we should be able to identify the value.

The question is - what's it doing there? It wasn't stock... didn't come on the car.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I have swapped the resistor and nothing changed, as you mentioned it was alright. I have noticed that there is no red wire coming with the rest of them so I think I'll better take the car to the specialist. Thought we can solve this one out without paying extra
Anyway Thanks a lot.
