Lightbulb 997 turbo Recall?

Anyone hear about a recent recall that includes the 2007 997 turbo for a sensor I think she said on the exhaust system? Got a call today from the dealer to schedule the repair. Curiously when I put my VIN in the NHTSA recall page it says there are no open recalls? Appreciate any input

I have not heard of any such recall. Of course I am the third owner, so.... I checked the Porsche site and it returned no open recalls. I also checked another site that returned 0 recalls.

They must be making some mistake.

Thanks Ed Just found out that this appears to be an old recall WD04 back in 2013. Dealer says Porsche records shows it was not done but all other searches on line show no open recall. Strange...

I have to agree. That is a really bad one to not do anything about since:

A. It can kill an engine
B. I t can kill other cars behind you

👍👍....not listed as a Recall because it is a voluntary service bulletin

Haven't been too active on this forum for awhile, but curious if there have been many coolant pipe failures on street-driven cars. Have had my car since new late 2006, driven on track for 2 seasons, but no failures so far.

Lets put it this way, for me:

If the glue doesn't get you, either the plastic elbows or the little rubber hoses on the turbo coolant lines (which is what got me) will. As a matter of fact, ANY piece of rubber (hose, O ring, gasket, whatever) has a chance of being compromised at the ripe old age of 13+.

Our generation of cars can't race unless they run Waterwet or have been pinned. Witnessing that 2017 mess on video at the Nurburgring was enough for me to make sure it was one of the first issues I addressed.
