Can't get her out of neutral

AM Vantage V8...When I stop at a stoplight,I shift into neutral. When the light turns green, I try to shift into first, but both **** paddles do nothing. I have to shut the motor off and restart, then it will shift in 1st no problem... Any ideas besides buying a new Aston?

Don’t select neutral at a stop; stay in 1st.

LALEX1 is infamous around these parts
When did it start happening?
sounds like you could be losing ams fluid. Have you checked under the car for leaks. Check the reservoir hoses for cracks.

First thing I would try is removing the paddle assembly and clean it and it's perch and contact area up.
