New to me Purchase Decision

Hi All,

Some of you will know my Virage journey and love for AM as well as Porsche.

In the market and I have a decision to make

2017/ 18 DB11
or
2024 Maserati GranTurismo Modena……..

both similar money now in the US.

I know where my heart is pulling me but would love to hear your thoughts.

cheers

That's pretty easy, the DB11. Except:
- If you want to daily drive it since doing that with an 8+ year old car is likely to be more of a problem, especially a few years down the road.
- You need more practicality, the DB11 has less rear passenger space and trunk space, not to mention older electronics and thus less tech features.
- The Aston dealer is a lot farther away than the Maserati dealer, since you are likely to need them for both.

Also something to consider is that the older DB11 is further down the depreciation curve than than the Maserati, so you likely can go with a slightly higher priced DB11 than you are comparing since you'll lose less over time.

What is powering the DB11?

This exactly, if it's something that matters to you.

Not sure there is a right or wrong answer here, two very great cars to choose from. I'm sure a lot of people here will be biased towards the DB11, but I could see the GranTurismo being a very interesting option as well. I personally would be more tempted by a previous gen GranTurismo MC or MC Stradale with the V8, not sure where those are price wise though. The right direction for you is probably more influenced by your personal preferences/situation more than anything, plus how you enjoy them behind the wheel.

The V12 would weigh in my assessment. Not that the V8 (hot vee) is anything shabby. In fact, I had that same engine in my AMG GTS. It is good, bullet proof. But, for me, there is just something special about the V12. When I was shopping my DB11 the V12 was a must.

I've had mine for almost 3 years now. I typically get bored with my cars at 2 years, but for now, you'd have to pry mine out of my cold dead hands.

Thank you everyone for the input.

for me I regretted selling the Virage for another 911
Then the hurricane took the 911 and this year I’ve been busy rebuilding the house- now time to purchase again

I was set on the DB11 until a friend showed me the 2024 GranTurismo
I’m tempted by the more modern vehicle but then concerned I will regret not getting another Aston.

Will keep you posted.

Have you driven both? Both are stunning looking cars.
