Part identification

Hi everyone. I removed the headlight from my 2012 V12 Vantage and I found the two parts shown in the photo on the floor afterwards. My GUESS is that they’re from the air filter box assembly, but it’s not entirely clear where. I’m hoping that someone can help and I’m posting on a general site as it could feasibly be a common part across V12 engines from the same era.

In summary, they are (photos below):
  1. A rubber O-ring, about 10cm in diameter, which could fit one of the air filter box connections.
  2. A smaller plastic part, about 3cm in diameter (including the ‘arms’), with what could be a screw thread in the centre (internal diameter about 1cm).
If anyone has any ideas what they are (as they both need replacing) and where they go, I’d be most grateful!

With thanks,
Stuart

I was pointed to the broken part being a mounting point on the headlight, which I’ve tried to glue on. I checked the bag of parts I’d collected from doing the job and found the bolt I’d removed from that mounting point with the brass insert to the broken part still on it. What I think happened was that the brass insert had become sufficiently stuck to the bolt to make the plastic mounting on the headlight the weakest part of the system, so it broke when I turned the bolt. I’ve put Plus Gas on the bolt and insert and will hopefully separate those over the weekend and put the brass insert back into the headlight mounting. A nice finding.

Repaired headlight installed, after a lot of trial and error. Somewhat perversely, I’m looking forward to doing the other side one day, as I’m sure I could do a better job…
