radio issues
So I have a 2009 DBS, factory radio. With a radio issue. Push the fob in the radio screen left side displays temp (inside car?),fan logo, off under that on the left side. The right side mountains logo?(outside temp) and temp under that. So I push the on/off **** once nothing push again the letters DBS come on the screen for 2 seconds and than off. Than the 2 displays on LS and RS come back on. So maybe I don't hav e power to the radio to play? If so why do I get those displays and the DBS logo comes on? Any Ideas?I haven't checked the fuse boxes yet . Doing that this weekend, as with anything on these cars it's not a 15 minute fix.
and the DBS letters come up on the screen for like 3 seconds and than go out and than the left side of the screen shows silouette temp, fan logo and under that shows off. the right side shows mountain peaks and temp under that.

That display is the infotainment control module, or ICM. It is connected to the car via the CAN bus from which it receives data from the car; button press, HVAC temp, etc. It is also connected to a fiber optic bus called the MOST bus. This is where various modules of the infotainment system talk to each other and the actual audio is sent to the amplifier in the rear. The MOST bus is a ring topology and has to be complete or the entire system will cease to function. If the cd changer, ipod interface, or satellite radio module dies or is disconnected from the MOST bus then the entire infotainment system will malfunction. The ICM will still turn on since it has the job of displaying the HVAC controls, but the rest of the display will be blank like you describe.
