Someone kick me, I did a very foolish thing today....

Was dropping off/picking up parts at a dealer and found TWO new 997 Turbos sitting in the lot. One ready for pickup, completely detailed (black/black, plenty of swirls, and one silver/black).

All I can say is SON OF A *****!

Yeah, it was larger than life, as others have said far better in person than in pics. The black/black was base, in the 125 range with minimal options. I sat in it. I LOVED IT. Even the basic seats, leather, etc were excellent. Sport Shifter is a must, which is one of 3 options (I think it had headrest crests and one other minimal option). The triangular bag wheel does look better than the circle, though the thicker wheel would be nice with it.

The silver one had 8k in carbon on it, and it was sick! Carbon Door Finishers now mean the lids/pulls/upper trim, NOT the lower interior sills. This had carbon switch cover ($2700), carbon door finisher package ($2700), carbon rear console, shifter, brake, included the carbon defroster across the front dash at glass, carbon tiny trim around each front vent, way over the top for my taste, but not bad overall.

No cam, but you get the idea. Either would look nice in my driveway. So can you help a brother out?

I did my part. I got a pair of silver bumper plugs in '00 I believe...
Let's see... Invest the profits from that for 5 years at 10%...
Good luck...

Erik, not hard to believe. Remember where the detailer ends up on the pay scale. There are great detailers out there, we all know them, but the lot junkie can't do the same job. I was stunned, though the beast was clean as a whistle, the paint would drive me bananas.

Meteor might be a nice choice if I were to select silver/gray/metallic, but I still love Guards. But in person, the darker shade does something for the Turbo, where the lighter shades don't.

Joe, you're due. Check into my office....

I once saw a new black 996 cab in a dealer showroom here and thought the paint already irretrievably messed up.

C'mon Eric. Pull the trigger already!

I hope to see a GR 997 TT with your name next to it in my next Griot's catalog.

I did my part. I bought bumper plugs and door plug for my 997S. Would have painted my bumperettes too but they came painted from the factory.

Neil....foolish was just dipping my toe in the water (drive by), then dunking my entire body in its flesh. Really makes you want one badly.

Robert, thanks for the business. On the bumperette....we can repaint those you know.
