S550s seem to be tanking?
I haven't seen too many on the road but they sure do look nice. Vast improvement over last S500 in looks, presence, technology, engine.
Near luxury and economy cars are growing due to gas prices. S550 sucks gas and is pricey for today's economy. It sure is nice though and relatively affordable.

there're tons already in LA street. i avg see more than 20 a day. it's a awesome car with good reviews. but MB is just gonna build as many as they can to fulfill the demand. S-class is known for its comfort, as well as the bad resale value. they do sell well from what i can see.
I see them all over the place as well. At first I didn't like the design but it has been growing on me. When I bought my GL, I asked the sales manager about the S550s and he said that they sell each and every one they can get their hands on without any problem. They have even gotten some from out of state dealerships by paying a premium over invoice so they could resell them.
In Germany it's kinda hard to spot them, since they are still called SL 500 here (although they are the SL 550). I guess they did this to not cause too much anger at people who just recently bought an SL 500 with the "old" engine and to also let the SL 55 stand out more.
Besides... I wouldn't buy one. I would go for a used SL 55 in the same price range instead.

I guess I meant they are not holding values and are selling below MSRP already. MB dealers are having to drop prices to move them. Sort of odd for a new design on a high end car. Probably why you have seen so many.
