brent_strong is infamous around these parts
I'd respectfully suggest something else. There are closed phones that give you nearly the same isolation from sounds and in-ear phones that give you more isolation (if you can tolerate them).

be sure you at least check out the Shure series. I bought a set of E4c's from Marc996Miami and they're amazing. They're not noise cancelling, but they're noise isolating - you can't hear anything outside your headphones which means that people talking and babies crying won't come into your ears like they do with noise cancelling headphones.

Also, with at least the early generations of QuietComfort headphones, you couldn't listen to them like normal headphones ie: you always had to have them turned on. Not necessarily the best thing for battery life if you're travelling.

just some fyi's / things to think about

Some girl got killed by a snowblower like this one while wearing this type of headphones. Not saying that they are dangerous but I wouldn't put them in the street.
