SL55 with F1 gear shifts
SL55 with F1 gear shifts
Heard the MY07 SL55 will come equiped with dual Automatic and Formula One like paddle shift similar to all Ferrari F1 cars. Does anyone here have one on order?
does anyone know how it's priced vs. the manual? it seems like a lot of 07 luxury cars like lexus, infinity, audi, jag along w/ some SUV (escalade) are coming out w/ these dual shift functions

AMG has replaced the shifter buttons on the back of the steering wheel with shifter paddles mounter on the steering wheel hub. ALL AMG Benz's are juice drive.

Anyway paddles are the right thing

OK lets get this clear, Ferrari F1 is NOT a tiptronic with paddles like the Mercedes. One uses a sequential manual gear box the other is a glorified tip-tronic, two VERY VERY different things.

The button location will change the way you grip the wheel when driving hard, but the AMG buttons are lightyears ahead on Porsche tip buttons. I find the tip buttons VERY awkward to use.(had a Cayman S w/tip as a loaner) Paddels are even better.

I have the same opinion on the matter
