Mercedes R-350 and R-500

My wife is pregnent and I am in the market for a Cayenne TT (already settled on one that I will be buying soon).

I went to the local Mercedes dealershio to look at a CTT they had and noticed this really cool looking station wagon. I thought "this car is really nice...as long as I have my GT2 and CTT, this would make an excellent 3rd car/family hauler."

I mean, the cars were really well equipped and the 350 is incredibly inexpensive (44K new). And Edmunds has rated them very high.

I am keeping my eye on these cars, will maybe look into a one year old 500 (V-8) in a couple of years or a 350 for my wifes DD purposes.

What are the opinions of others about this car. Mind you, its purpose is for family functions. Iknow, I know, it is a station wagon....but I will always have my 600 hp GT2 for fun.

Jimbo, I am getting a CTT that will have over 500 hp after a chip, so the R63 (an awsome vehicle) is covered.

I have an R500 that I use to transport the family on weekends between Denver and Vail. We have three yound kids (oldest is 7) and the R is a great family transporter. I may be in the minority but I actually like the looks and have been extremely happy with the R. The interior is very functional, comfortable, and has a ton of space.

The R is a nice car, I acctually like it with the AMG kit that you can order from factory; there used to be a sky blue R500 at the Dealership here in Kuwati, It looked spectacular.

My friend has had nothing but problems with his. Handles coming off, electrical issues, etc. No recurring issues, just overall poor craftsmanship.

i hated them at first, but it's growing on me. i especially like the fact that there's only 2 seats in the second row.
