It's a win win situation. You get a nice tax deduction, and a beautiful car to boot.

 

That's immediately what I thought, but surely you have to...deduct... some of your deduction for the car's value....right?

 

you can deduct the amount over and above the cost of the car. the donor of the car will assume the deduction of its fair market value.
