only Springs or Complete Suspension System
only Springs or Complete Suspension System
Hi
I talked to several tuners and especially Porsche Cup Engineers and they only recommended the
PSF9 Bilstein
How did some of you lowered the 997 tt with PASM ? What are your experiences ?
Seems like people are more concerned of how to increase the power and forget of how to glue the car to the ground.

Great point.
I have the 997TT with GIAC, FS Exhaust, and FS headers. HP is approximately 620.
I never had one bit of traction problem stock (480 hp).
Now I need to stick to the road a little better in order to drive the car to its maximum.

I have the TA springs. I like the ride, it is a hair firmer and drops it enough that I am happy. PSS9s might be a choice when I throw it on the track, but at the moment it seems to have taken care of some of the bob and weave. I looked at the feedback people were giving on the TA stuff. TA says all the design was done for the PASM system. So far I am pleased.
I've installed the Techart's. I thought the lowering was very nice and the ride quality was very similar to stock. For all out best performance on the street or track and the ability to completely customize the ride height and ride quality, PSS9's can't be beat.
Agreed. The nice thing about the TA is they were smart enough to line the upper and bottom coil. H&R finally got on the ball, but it took some time and they still have issues with loading and unloading. In other words they clunk. Trival I know, but as you know sending a car out that clunks when it loads and unloads creates a batch of phone calls.
The new PASM compatible PSS9s have been late coming and most people want the PASM in tact. Moton has a nice setup, but probably over kill for most and the price is always high especially for the guy that just wants it lower.
The TA springs make the car firmer as if it was on sport all the time. I don't mind that. It is just right for me. The sport mode is great and reduce roll a lot, but on the road wiht a lot of continous bumps your teeth will chatter

First of all thx for your answers. Well drivin a 200k car should not make an issue to save 2000 bucks or not for the suspension. Especially if the car is tuned up (500-650ish hp) then you def will have to tune up the whole contact system to the ground. It also depends on how u drive ur car on the streets, if the streets are good or not, if you live somewhere with long, straight, wide roads or if you live f.e. in the alps, with nice long and short turns like ona track... think all of these facts should be considered aswell. But driving at the maximum ALWAYS needs a good car setting for everybody's safety, doesn't matter if on the streets or track. It shouldn't be only a height & clearance issue.
Lowering springs are ok for fun drivers. I am not a smart *** talker, I just want to animate some of you to think twice abt it.

No one thinks you are trying to be a smart *** so no worries.
You have to remember that until recently there were little to no option for our. Cars. In fact PSS9s are still not available. Moton deletes the PASM. Not everyone wants that either.
Also you need to consider the 997TT uses a system that anticipates front load. It is no longer a load bearing viscous coupler. My point is even with 522AWHP the car is not as you would imply. The platform is much different than my 996TT

Yes in fact I do remember that, and you are right. As said, it's just an incitation, not a criticism.
997tt is still a brand new car, so it's always a time issue until good parts are available. In spite for everything, I was just wondering if other attach the same value to it as I do.
