I've been shopping the new TT's. I probably want to go automatic this time around. Any idea when the new DSG transmission will be available and will it be as good as the Ferrari F1 paddle shifter setup?

 

Dog it will be the PDK not DSG and sometime in 08 is the best guesstimate...

DSG = VW's Direct Shift Gearbox

PDK = Porsche's 'box' from their 962 racecars??

nope, still have it. re-negotiating with the wife i want to go automatic this time, but not till they step up from the tiptronic.

two things will happen. either i will put my car back to stock and she'll take it and i'll get a tt coupe. she has to have a cab. that's non negotiable or, more likely.... when the TT cab becomes available with the PDK we'll trade the cab in and get that.

we're shopping the euro delivery too. might make for a great option for our annual vacation. no one i've asked seems to know when the cab or the upgraded tranny will come out.

I was told this may be introduced along with the 997tt cab. Who really knows? All I know is that I want one.

 

None taken. I just started perusing the 997TT forums so I'm knew to all this.

 

Whatever you decide, better off returning it to stock, otherwise they'll kill you on the trade in. Probably this fall for both the cab and pdk.

 

The euro delivery idea is great, we have been talking about doing that as well.

 

None, they're both for girls and left leg amputees.
