Turbo at auction - 10k off.

I saw a Turbo go for 10k off sticker with 900 miles at last Wednesday's HiLine sale here in Atlanta. Looked like a pretty good deal. Car was GT Silver with descent options (although interior was blue). $136k sticker - sold for $126k....most off I have seen so far. Select Luxury bought it.

Looking at the depreciation of 996TT, it is just a matter of time when the 997TT will follow.

Sea blue is really nice. Not sure about it with silver though. There was a guy on rennteam who was selling his white/sea blue and posted some high res pics and it was incredible.

tim-i agree generally with you-the 997tt will depreciate, i just don't think as rapidly as the 996tt. alot of people were pissed off with the 996 in general-as soon as the 997 came out (which reminded people of the 993) the 996 started to plumet in value. i think that the 997 will do better in general, because of the previously stated reasons. but, you are right-come 3 years from now, we will all be lucky to get 85-90k for our 997tts.

I love it, too. I think an Atlas/Sea Blue car would look incredible...

The car looks more like arctic than GT Silver? Probably just the way the photos came out. The dealer doesn't mention anything about exterior color except Silver. With GT being a special color you would think it would be listed as such? I ask because i ordered GT silver and my impression of that color is that its darker than the photos in the listing? Chris you would be the perfect person to ask, are the photos in this listing a good representation of GT Silver?

I know you're asking the other Chris, but GT Silver is very distinctive in person. If you see the color next to Arctic Silver, you can see the difference right away. It's "shinier" (no other way to describe it).

GT is 'warmer' than Arctic in person, and slightly darker with more than twice the 'black' to the formulation than Arctic. But here is why GT Silver will work with Blue or Black interiors, and why Arctic is best with Black:

GT Silver
<o></o>
49.5% Brilliant Silver
37.05% Microfine Silver
11% Special Black
1.5% Blue
0.9% White
0.05% Red
<o></o>
Arctic Silver
51% Brilliant Silver
42% Microfine Silver
3% Special Black
1.5% Black
0.9% White
0.05% Red
0.05% Blue

Definitely GT Silver. I saw it in person. It was also written on the car with the option list as it went through the lane.

Ermanno, it seems that the car is definitely GT silver but I don't think that's a great pic of the color. Showroom lighting can be pretty weird and play tricks with the color. Eric's description is pretty dead on. It's darker than arctic. I also think it looks really good with sea blue - I seem to be on a sea blue kick lately.

Being that this is a wholesale price, we would still expect the dealer to retail the car close to the $136K number.....right? Otherwise what's the point to make $3k to $4k profit on a $120K plus purchase, the dealers can make $3 to $4K on about any $20K auction buy.
