Amazing Roads of California

As I wait until late June beginning of July for my car I have been wondering where I would enjoy a nice day trip to take it. I stumbled on this web site, I have no affiliation with them. There are many really neat roads in California and thought I would share.

Enjoy

I bookmarked it. Thanks for the tip. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful state where one can travel along the pacific coast and the sierra mountains all in the same day! I am alooking forward to the summer for sure. Drive safely.

I actually took one of that web sites rides. I went down to Holister and took Rt 25, was a 300 mile day. What a beautiful ride, even in a Cayenne, everything is green this time of year and blooming, beautiful.

Oh and that web site is free, just register and u can get more detailed info. I also saw that Harley Davidson sells maps/trips that looked kinda interesting. Their rides are days long with info on where to stay and see. I suppose if its good for touring bikes its good for us.

Anyone in Northern California have any favorite rides they'd like to share?

Yes Daddy,...

I guess it would be 'bad' to put the Cayenne program on the 997TT... We might go 2 controllers.

Heh Actually it'll be a-ok to use on both cars because it serves as a switching devices and does not have the programs on the unit itself

Pashnit.com is not free. It costs $20 to subscribe for a year. It's more than worth it even if you don't ride a bike. It's a great resource for planning trips and not just in California.

Probably the best road in Northern California is CA 36 from Red Bluff out to the coast. And if you like to autocross without those pesky cones telling you where to go, you have to drive north on US-101 to Leggett, turn left onto CA 1 and go 22 miles of arm twisting heaven down to the ocean. Be careful though, because if you go off into the scenery, you won't hurt yourself, you'll just starve to death before you reach the bottom.

BTW CA 25 Airline Hwy south out of Holister is Steve Dinan's test track.

I think that unless you subscribe you can't access the whole site. Anyway I used to get it for free, but he started charging $20 a couple of years ago. Used to be he asked for donations via Pay Pal. Apparently that didn't pay the bills.
