That thing must be like 1500lbs with 12" rear tires and bolt-on turbos. My 5y.o. might really like it

Chastise me if you like, but....In the very near future the "Micro-car" will be a very popular vehicle seen on our streets. Imagine that thing with a turbo'd flat 4-cylinder putting out about 275-350 hp and priced at about $30,000?! or a Toyota/Porsche hybrid engine in it? 600-700 miles on a 11 gallon gas tank. Or how about Porsche's first venture in about 80 years in an electric car (those of you steeped in Porsche Knowledge already know that Ferdinand Porsche developed an All-Wheel drive electric car over 80 years ago), I totally would want one in my garage! Sure it's cartoonesque, but it's a great design and would make for an excellent jump into a new segment vehicle for Porsche.

You're right, I did get a little excited hahah But seriously the micro car will be getting fairly popular here in the US very soon and I think though not a true Micro, the Mini Cooper showed that they can be popular here AND look good. Imagine that car with a 1.8 or 2.0 liter Turbo Charged 4 cylinder Boxer engine similar to a WRX which uses the Boxer engine design originated by Porsche. Or how about the worlds first Turbocharged Hybrid engine. Just looking to the future and not being afraid of it.

yes ok I can admit that would be an awesome mini-car. It would be a blast to whip around the tight streets over in Europe or actually where he built it. Greece! : )

I kind of like it

Think of it for a sec, this could be the entry level P-car, we have the SUV, the 4-door coming up, what is missing is an small entry level P-car
Put in half a 997TT engine and it will haul A...........

Not taking anything away from the Mini fans out there but I just don't think it makes sense in the Porsche line-up. Reminds me of when Jaguar introduced the X-Type. Wasn't a good idea in my opinion it diluted the brand. Wasn't even a particularly good near lux entry. Porsche has an even stronger interest than Jaguar in maintaining it's image because it's the most profitable car company in the world and doesn't need to anything to stem the tide of red ink. Again just my opinion. At a starting price in the forties I think the Boxster is as far down market as they dare go (and I love Boxsters--driving my sister's was my first Porsche experience).
