For those considering iforged...

Better take a look at this thread over at e90post.com. Few people posted picture of their brand new iforged wheels with cracks on the inside from the welds. Which brings up a question why are true 3 peice wheels welded? Doesn't that make it a 2 peice wheel? Very interesting thread, you should definately read it if you are considering iforged wheels.

The I-forged Essen's are available in 2 and 3 piece wheels. As for the pictures, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what they show. The two sets of nuts in each picture is confusing. Is it some kind of reflection?

Not sure if your aware of this but iforged offers the following:

2pc weld
2pc bolted
3pc bolted

A weld leak isn't that big of a deal, it can happen! Just send the wheel back to iforged they'll take care of it.

I've heard of quality issues (and horrible customer service) w/ this brand for years and years. This is the type of stuff...that will keep me away from a brand.

The guys @ HRE are great guys. A friend of mine, is an executive there. And while I've never purchased anything from them, I do know they strive to take care of any issues that arise.

A weld leak maybe, but a longitudinal crack down the center of a structural weld is 1000% unacceptable at any time.

PS yes the 2nd set of nuts is a reflection.

I've seen HRE deny warranty claims for flaking chrome on numerous occassions, I wouldn't say they are much better at all.

F me for thinking you would get the wheels in perfect condition and that any future issues would be handled without question when you drop $7-12k on a set. Heck thats after you suck up the what, near 2 month wait for them?

They sure do make CCW look like a god after stunts like this, his stuff always comes out perfectly, and even total one off custom wheels are on your door step in 2 weeks. What else can you ask for... oh and he's 1/2-1/3 the price.

CCW has only 1pc designs except for their classic. You can't compare them to HRE or iForged. They dont even offer any finishes other than polished.

Every company has problems from time to time, either learn to deal with it or be happy with your stock wheels.

Who cares how many pieces they come in? Like that makes any difference. And technically since they are welded, they are 2 piece, but thats beside the point.

What other finish do you want? polished, chrome, or send them out to get powdercoated? Quality wise they are just as good as any of the other companies, and the customer service is 10x better than most.

I personally have had over 5 sets of HRE's and would never buy a set of I-forged. My customer service with HRE has been nothing shy of great. The quality of the clear coat was another story up until recently (new powder coating clear coat process) and I was very happy with them after they re-cleared by wheels.

My opinion may be strong against I-Forged but Vincent personally gave me that opinion several years ago.

I wanted a change from HRE and decided to go for some Work Wheels. I have had two sets and they were very well made and held up well. Work Wheels makes wheels for many high-end retailers rebadging their product. They are very good at what they do and they do custom stuff all the time. Do you think the RAC Monolites, Champions, SpeedArt, Cargraphics comes from a manufacturer in Germany? Think again.

CCW is very good as well as vicious said. They are not for the "bling" crowd as they stride to be strong in their simple approach - "stick with what works".

Everyone is up in arms sometimes about 2-3 peice wheels as being superior. Well they are not always. There is always a give and take with anything.

The product/marketing might get you to buy the first set but the "customer service" along with the quality will bring you back for life as well as your referrals.

The crack in the I-"forged" wheels were all over the boards a while back. I have been on the forums for BMW for a while now having been in the M3 & M5 since early 90's. HRE makes a quality wheel no doubt but many companies are catching up to them in quality and service and best of all price.

I just purchased IFORGED SENEKAs and I love the wheels. Everyone is right about customer service. My wheel shop called and called and barely got a response. I tried to call and could only reach sales. I had to wait almost 3 months!! what takes so long anyway?? They came in the wrong color so the place I bought them from had them powdercoated locally. the quality was great but IFORGED needs to fix the customer service end of it.

CCW does not offer chrome, powdercoat, brushed, they only offer shot anodized on one of their wheels.
